Porn Addiction is Chemical Addiction
Porn is an entertainment for adult people and it is exploiting our sexual desires. Porn is legal in this country as long it is involving and intended to adult people. But most people aren’t aware that they could become addicted to porn.
Unlike drug and alcohol addiction, lots of people are underestimating porn addiction. Well, it is true that porn addiction doesn’t instantly make you a bad, perverted, and flawed person but you need to understand that porn addiction is basically a chemical addiction just like drug and alcohol addiction. Porn is so powerful since it exploits our sexual desires. During sexual process, our brain will order our body to produce endorphins and other neurochemicals such as dopamine, norepinephrine, oxytocin and serotonin. Those neurochemicals are the ones that produce tremendous rush or high. That is the reason why sexual process is relaxing and pleasuring.
Those neurochemical substances are very strong and powerful. When it is triggered during healthy marital intimacy, those substances will generate myriad benefits. But when it is generated with intense ignition from porn, those substances could create addiction. Since it is generated by neurochemicals, porn addiction is basically a chemical addiction and off course, it is going to bring many bad effects to your body.
